You must register to bid and to see the current bidding prices. Click on the green Register button on the home page of the Auction site. Enter in the information requested. (Note: all items with stars are required information that must be provided so we can contact you after the sale closes if you are a winning bidder.) Once you have filled in the required information, click on the register button at the bottom of the page and this will officially register you. Note: Once you are registered you are bound by the Terms and Conditions of the Sale. You will be sent an email to verify your email address and you will need to go to your email inbox and open the automated email and click on the link to complete registration. If you do not receive the email in your inbox within a few minutes you may need to check your junk or spam mail folder in case your email provider classified the automated email as such.

If you have forgotten your password just click on the (forgot?) by the password box. This will bring up a box for you to enter your email address. Fill in the email address which your account is registered to and click on the submit button and your password will be sent to your email address.

You can not change your email address - it must be done by the auction site manager. If you cannot remember what email address you have registered under please contact the auction site manager and they will email you that information. If you need to change the email address send an email to the auction site manager. The email should contain your old email address and your new email address, along with your name and contact information so we can verify the account. We will then proceed to change your information and email you upon completion letting you know when your account is ready and active.

You must register to become a user of the site to bid and to see the current bid prices. See "How Do I Register" to get yourself registered to bid. It is always better to register early in the auction so you are able to get in a bid when you want.

Note that the bid price is the per embryo price. If a lot has four embryos and the price is $500.00 that means the lot price is $2,000.00 (U.S. dollars).

Once you have registered and have access to bid you may begin bidding on the genetics that are of interest to you. From the home page click on the Blue button to "view current lots". As you go down the lots and you want more information click on the blue button "details", this will take you to the individual information page for the lot. This page gives you the time left in the sale, the current bid price and allows you to bid. 

There is a box for bidding. You can either place a bid to surpass the current bid or you can enter the maximum bid you are willing to pay. 

If you enter your maximum bid the auction system will increase your bid to the next lowest price when another user bids on the same item using a system known as Proxy Bidding. This proxy bidding process continues until your maximum bid amount is reached or the auction ends. Only you and the auction system know your maximum bid, other bidders nor the sale organizers have access to this information. Again, the Holstein Plaza auction system will use only as much of your maximum bid as is necessary to maintain your position as high bidder. If you are outbid by another bidder the system will send you an email to notify you that you have been out bid. 

Once you have bid you can follow your bid lots under "My Bids" when you sign in.

The Holstein Plaza Auction site uses a system called Popcorn Bidding. It means that when the lot is about to close and everyone is waiting to make the last bid you will not lose out. When the lot approaches the last minute of the sale and someone bids the sale is automatically extended for a predetermined length of time allowing all interested parties to bid again. This will continue to recur until no one bids during that time period. This gives everyone a fair chance to bid on the lot they are interested in.
